Easy Shrimp Seafood Boil Recipe
A shrimp seafood boil is a great place to start if you want the flavor and experience of a traditional boil without buying several different kinds of seafood. Shrimp cook quickly, pair well with sausage and vegetables, and soak up seasoned butter beautifully.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds large or jumbo raw shrimp, thawed
- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced into large pieces
- 1½ pounds small red potatoes
- 4 ears corn, cut into pieces
- Butter, melted
- Chef Bae® Seafood Boil Seasoning, to taste
- Lemon wedges, optional
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Add the potatoes and cook until they are beginning to become tender, checking them after about 12 to 15 minutes.
- Add the sausage and continue cooking for a few minutes.
- Add the corn and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender and the corn is hot.
- Add the thawed shrimp last. Large shrimp usually need only about 2 to 3 minutes once the water returns to a simmer. Cook until opaque and tender.
- Drain immediately so the shrimp do not continue cooking in the hot water.
- Mix melted butter with Chef Bae® Seafood Boil Seasoning. Pour over the hot shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes and toss well.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges if desired.
Chef Bae® Tip
Do not wait for the shrimp to curl tightly before draining the pot. A loose C shape and opaque center are better signs that the shrimp are ready.
