Seafood Boil with Sausage, Corn, and Potatoes
Sometimes the best seafood boil is the straightforward one: shrimp, smoked sausage, corn, potatoes, and plenty of seasoned butter. These ingredients are easy to find and give you the classic mix of seafood, smoky meat, sweet corn, and tender potatoes.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds large shrimp
- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 1/2 pounds baby red potatoes
- 4 ears corn, cut into pieces
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- Chef Bae® Seafood Boil Seasoning, to taste
- Lemon wedges, optional
Instructions
- Add the potatoes to a large pot of boiling water and cook until partially tender.
- Add the sausage and corn. Continue cooking until the potatoes are nearly ready.
- Add the shrimp last because they cook quickly. Remove from the heat once the shrimp are opaque and pink.
- Drain well.
- Melt butter over low heat and stir in Chef Bae® Seafood Boil Seasoning.
- Toss the shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes with the seasoned butter and serve hot.
Choose the Right Sausage
Smoked sausage brings savory flavor without requiring a separate cooking process. Andouille adds more spice, while turkey or beef smoked sausage can be used based on preference and dietary needs. Follow the package directions for the sausage you choose.
Do the Potatoes First
Potatoes are the ingredient most likely to be undercooked if everything goes into the pot together. Giving them a head start keeps the shrimp tender.
